The Construction Method of PERR Log Houses
Quality Concerning Raw Materials and Manufacturing
In our factory we manufacture traditional log houses made of natural building materials combined with modern technology.
The walls can either be made out of round logs or square logs with different wood thicknesses. Depending on the range of application, the purpose or the personal taste, the appropriate construction method can be selected. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Longitudinal Profiles
The round log beams are stacked on top of each other with a tongue-and-groove profile. Between the individual beams, swelling tapes are inserted, which are responsible for an airtight building envelope.

Corner Connections
The corner connections and interior wall connections are created with traditional corner halvings.
Also here, swelling tapes are inserted.

Storey Ceiling:
The beams of the storey ceiling consist of round or square woods, which are neatly assembled into the outer walls.
Roof Truss:
The roof truss can be created in any requested roof shape. Mainly a saddle roofs are planned, but also a pent roof or a hip roof is possible. The rafters can be made of round or square logs.
Buildings and Constructions of Square Logs
Square Log House
The beam thicknesses of buildings and constructions made of square logs can be selected between 8 cm, 10 cm, 12 cm, 14 cm, 16 cm, 18 cm, 20 cm, 22 cm and 24 cm.

The wall thickness is chosen according to the purpose and the range of application.
Longitudinal Profiles in Terms of Square Log Block Construction
The square beams are stacked on top of each other with a tongue-and-groove profile.
Depending on width of the beam, there may be two or more tongue-and-groove profiles.
Between the individual beams, swelling tapes are inserted, which are responsible for an airtight building envelope.
Interior Wall Connections for Square Log Block Construction
In order to ensure that the interior walls are connected to the exterior walls in a clean, stable and airtight way, they must be assembled into the exterior walls. The connection can be made with a „Tiroler Schloss“, a halving or with a dovetail joint.
Wooden Walls
For the walls of a square log house, our customers have the possibility to choose among different types of wood.
Block planks made of multiply glued woods
This special case shows alpine spruce from Austrian forests
The glued woods can be created up to a length of approx. 13 meters without longitudinal jointing. Our woods are almost free from cracks.
Block Planks
Block planks made of non-glued, winter-felled, solid spruce wood from domestic forests.
These are beams, seperated at their core. The beams are almost free from cracks.
The wall thickness of the exterior walls is 24 cm, the wall thickness of the interior walls is 14 cm.
Block planks made of non-glued, winter-felled, solid spruce wood from domestic forests. These are beams with a core. The beams will have larger cracks, with the main crack disappearing in the tongue-and-groove connection. The inner walls consist beams, seperated at their cores. This wood is suitable for buildings with a rustic look.
Starting at a length of 8 meters the beams have to be joint. The longitudinal joint is made by means of a dovetail.
The wall thickness of the exterior walls is 20 cm, the wall thickness of the interior walls is 12 cm.
