Our round log houses are in a harmonious coexistence with landscape and forests. Concerning the design ouf our log houses there are no limits for you, be it in terms of architecture, furnishings or size. We draft and manufacture every single round log cabin in our family-run business tailored to your individual desires. If you have not decided yet, whether you want your log cabin to be made of round logs or square logs, you are welcome to look at our square log cabins once again.

The stable round logs protect the houses from cold, wind and vandalism in the best possible way. Massive doors and windows deny access to unwanted visitors. All windows can be fitted with shutters, and on request we provide additional reinforcing iron plates.

We have experience and expertise with the assembly of wooden houses in impassable areas. If the accessibility is limited, the wooden parts for the construction of the round log cabin can be transported to the building site by all-terrain vehicles or by a transport helicopter.

You can also purchase roof slabs and insulation for floor and roof at your builder’s merchant according to our parts list. (Price reduction on request)

Design Description of Our Hunting Lodges / Mountain Huts

Construction-Kit Round Log

Exterior and partition walls with 11 cm or 16 cm ø, made of domestic, winter-felled pruce trunks with small annual rings (air-dried 1- 3 years and if necessary additionally dried in a drying room). Log thickness on request, either 11 cm, 16 cm, 21 cm or 25 cm; provided with our patented longitudinal and corner connection. All drillings for threaded rods and power lines as well as the required sealing tapes are included. On door and window openings, vertical T-boards, 40 mm thick are milled on both sides. The needed sealing tapes are included.

Floor

(based on on site concrete slab with bitumen cover or point foundations)
Consists of a base frame made of mortised square timber with dovetail connection, boiler-pressure impregnated or natural; a sub-floor with sub-floor paper or foil between the beams, a Perlite insulation fill, approximately 12 cm high; tongue-and-groove floor boards 24 mm thick, screed and tiles on site in the bathroom, a porch floor made of larch boards, 25 mm thick.

Sleeping Loft

The sleeping loft is located above the rear rooms. It consists of dried, planed and chamfered square beams that are flattened at the top layer and neatly fitted into the walls, including the required sealing tapes; tongue-and-groove floor boards 24 mm and a railing made of round logs.

Roof Truss

Saddle roof approx. 16-18 ° roof pitch or according to your specifications, very sturdy truss with tight rafter spacing for high snow loads. Ridge, rafters, as well as their intermediate timbers, made of dried roundwood, are neatly worked into the walls. The required sealing tapes are included (if requested, raftings can be made of square timber which leads to a reduction of 1,5 % of the price of the construction-kit)

Roof

It consists of a roof boarding made of 19 mm tongue-and-groove boards, including the required sealing tapes; 1 layer of roofing membrane, a on-roof insulation made of woodfibre insulating boards, a compensation waler (for the canopy area), air and roof laths, boiler-pressure impregnated or natural; verge boards and fascia boards and clay roof tiles including verge and ridge tile in natural red or anthracite.

Gutters

Each round log cabin is normally equipped with wooden gutters, that are boiler-pressure impregnated and have a diameter of 13 cm or 16 cm. On the roof, hand-forged galvanized hooks serve as a mount.

Doors

We use high-quality carpentered spruce doors; the exterior doors are planked on both sides, the interior doors come with padding. Stable lining and panels as well as the required sealing tapes are included. On request, the front door can be equipped with a small window.

Windows

We use high-quality carpentered spruce windows and French doors with crossbars, double thermal insulation glazing (UG 1.1) and folding shutters made of spruce. Stable lining and panels as well as the required sealing tapes are included.
